This is how we promote occupational safety
Proactive actions
Safety observations, safety walks, safety briefings and other preventive measures are part of our daily work. They help us identify risks in advance and avoid them.
Trainings
We increase our employees’ awareness of occupational safety and risks through onboarding, training programmes and regular briefings.
Tracking
We carry out regular proactive risk assessments to prevent accidents. If an accident occurs, we carefully review what happened to ensure that a similar accident does not happen again.
Certified safety work
Occupational safety at L&T is guided by a certified management system in accordance with the ISO 45001 standard and our occupational safety policy. Safety is regularly discussed by management, and progress is reported monthly to the management team and the Board, as well as at business unit level.
Long-term safety work delivers results
At L&T, occupational safety has been successfully developed through consistent and systematic efforts. Over the past 15 years, the number of accidents per million working hours has decreased by 66%. Preventive safety measures have played a significant role in reducing workplace accidents. Employee participation has also increased, with more and more employees actively contributing to proactive safety work.
