Climate change mitigation
Mitigation of climate change is a common issue for all of us. At L&T, we want to set an example for our partners as well. Our goal is net zero for our own operations and the entire supply chain by 2045. The services we provide to customers reduce emissions and promote material recycling and energy efficiency.
L&T's operations save the same amount of emissions per year as 49,000 Finns produce.
The goal is to increase the carbon footprint
The carbon footprint shows how much the company has been able to avoid the emissions and climate load that it produced with its previous operating methods through conscious choices and solutions. L&T's carbon footprint is created through the services provided to customers. Our goal is to constantly increase the positive climate impact of our operations.
We are aiming for a net zero emissions goal by 2045
L&T's strategic goal is to reduce emissions from its own operations and the entire supply chain (Scope 1, 2 and 3) by 90% from the 2020 level by 2045. Achieving emission reductions requires even closer cooperation with partners in the entire supply chain.
In the first phase, the measures focus especially on reducing emissions from subcontracted transport and promoting the recycling of raw materials.
The measures we use to reduce our own emissions
Emission-free fleet
L&T has 54 low-emission heavy-duty vehicles and 349 light-duty vehicles that run on either biogas or electricity. In 2023, we electrified especially the Swedish fleet.
Economical driving style
We train our drivers in a proactive driving style and monitor consumption with driving style monitoring equipment.
Route optimization
We do continuous route planning. With the help of planning, we have been able to streamline our operations and reduce emissions, driving kilometers and working hours.
Emission-free electricity
We use emission-free electricity in all our properties.
